The Work : See

Third and final studio release by this extremely important group. Somewhat murkier sound than before but here is where they found their singular unified voice as a group. May be their best ever, though it's really hard to pick.

Out now on Cd, don't miss!

Alright, write some commentary on these! I got this and "Slow Crimes" from some hole-in-the-wall CD clearance shop in London many years ago. I remember being amazed at the boxes and stacks of thousands of CDs covering every available surface. No shelving, mind you, this was a budget operation. Much involved in sorting the wheat from the chaff (The Work definitely being wheat). This same trip also included a spree at what used to be the Recommended Records shop on Wandsworth Road, by then These Records (but just recently at the time, I think - check the address on your old vinyl). Another great Work album; you may be able to get one of the few left from megaphonerecords.com, or maybe from ReR (listed, but it wouldn't be the first time a listed album is out of stock - for good).

Hello
as an absolute fan of The Work music, This Heat/Hayward and similar influences... I discover this blog, so great !

Disappointed, no more Unrest Work & Play to download... well, maybe later again

by the way, I play as a duo in Goliad : here is my band's myspace page,
www.myspace.com/goliadweb
according to the musical background, you may be interested in listening... or absolutely not, nevermind

Thanks a lot
I put this site in my top favorite folders immediately

I suddenly asked myself a big question :
Is there any videos stuffs of The Work or This Heat live performances ?
Have you ever heard something about it ?
It would be so unbelievable to have such documents...

b,
there is a 3-part video of a this heat concert on youtube.com (browse using keyword this heat). the integral version can be obtained also from soulseek. it's the last, 4 piece incarnation of the band, without gareth williams. not essential but important as the, for the time being, only available video material of the group. some 40+ minutes duration, watchable pic/sound quality, filmed most probably in germany 1982 (not 1980 as it's stated).
unfortunately, so far nothing on the work...
all best
